Delicious Keto Menu Without the Guilt

The keto diet is a popular and successful eating regimen that helps maintain an optimal weight and manage health issues. But, like any system, in order to help you achieve the desired effect, it's important to enjoy tasty, protein-rich food so you can follow it with minimal willpower. And you probably crave pasta and cookies too, right? Instead of giving them up, we suggest replacing those carb bombs with keto treats made with hydrolyzed collagen.

Why Is Collagen Important in the Keto Diet?

As you know, we are responsible for supporting our body's own collagen production, whether through foods rich in this essential protein or through supplements. A dose of collagen peptides can also help with the stomach discomfort that often comes with a higher protein intake. Hydrolyzed collagen aids in breaking proteins down, making digestion easier.

On the other hand, if you're following a keto lifestyle while working and training actively, you know you often don't have time for elaborate recipes – and a dose of hydrolyzed collagen can “save” you in a moment of intense hunger, for example. After all, pure collagen from pasture-raised animals is an odorless, tasteless protein powder that dissolves easily in liquid and is absorbed quickly. That way, your morning or afternoon coffee or tea, smoothie, or fresh juice can easily become a protein drink.

Last but not least, people who train actively on a keto diet will confirm that collagen intake helps them maintain high muscle tone, preserve their mobility, keep their bones healthier, and recover more easily from injuries. The benefits for hair and skin are also significant, especially during intense training.

In short, hydrolyzed collagen fits naturally into the keto lifestyle, making it even more effective and enhancing its results. The fact that it easily becomes part of recipes for drinks, main dishes, desserts, and soups makes it your ally.

We're offering you 4 keto recipes with collagen for a rich and delicious dinner with “fake” carbs, which you can try today.

Keto Mac and Cheese

Ingredients needed:

250 grams low-carb pasta

1 cup cooking cream  4 tablespoons butter

 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

 1 pinch salt

 1 pinch paprika

 1 pinch mustard powder

 optional: 1 teaspoon powdered gelatin

optional: 2 strips of bacon, chopped

Preparation method:

Boil the pasta in boiling water until soft (8–10 minutes). While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a separate pot over medium heat. Stir in the spices and the cooking cream. Add the collagen and mix well.

Let the sauce mixture start to thicken and bubble, then stir in the shredded cheese (and bacon bits, if using). Once the pasta is done, drain it and pour it into the thickened keto cheddar sauce. Toss to coat the pasta in the sauce and serve. It can be eaten right away or kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Cookies

Ingredients needed:

1 teaspoon vanilla whey protein
1.5 cups almond flour
1.5 cups coconut flour
1 tablespoon hydrolyzed collagen

 1 tsp baking powder

 ⅓ cup sweetener

 ¼ cup sweetener (separate)

 ½ cup butter

 1 egg

Raw almonds, walnuts

Preparation method:

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, add the collagen, whey protein, almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, ¼ cup sweetener, and mix well. In a large bowl, add the melted butter and ⅓ cup sweetener. Using a hand mixer, beat an egg into the mixture until fluffy. Combine the dry and wet mixtures.

Using your hands or a spoon, divide the dough into small balls and place them on the baking tray. Press them down well, as they won't spread much. You can decorate them with nuts of your choice. Bake for 10–12 minutes. Let them cool before serving.

Keto Collagen Smoothie

Ingredients needed: ¼ large avocado

1 ½ teaspoon chia seeds

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 tablespoon collagen peptides

1 tablespoon almond butter

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

½ cup water

liquid stevia to taste (optional)

¼ – ½ cup ice

Cut the avocado and scoop out the flesh. Add it, along with all the other ingredients, to the blender and mix. You can store the drink in the refrigerator.

Keto Collagen Bread

Ingredients needed:

½ cup hydrolyzed collagen

6 tablespoons almond flour

5 eggs,

1 tablespoon liquid coconut oil - unflavored

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon xanthan gum

A pinch of pink Himalayan salt

Optional: a pinch of stevia

Preparation method:

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Grease the pan with coconut oil (or ghee). You can also use parchment paper to prevent sticking. If you don't grease the sides of the pan, this will allow the bread to cling to the walls and rise as it cools.

In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. In a small bowl, mix the dry ingredients and set aside. Optionally add a pinch of stevia for sweetness.

In another bowl, mix the wet ingredients – the egg yolks and the liquid coconut oil – and set aside. Add the dry and wet ingredients to the egg whites and mix until well combined. The batter will be thick and a little sticky.

Pour the batter into the greased pan and place it in the oven. Bake for 40 minutes. The bread will rise in the oven. Remove it from the oven and let it cool completely - about 1 to 2 hours. The bread will settle a little, which is normal. Once cooled, run a sharp knife around the edges of the pan to release the loaf. You can slice it into about 12 slices.

Enjoy your keto meal!
