Product Information

Active Berberine is a high-quality food supplement based on a standardized dry extract of barberry bark (source of berberine), white mulberry leaf extract (Reducose®), vitamin E, and chromium. The formula is vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free.

Berberine is a natural phytochemical with a number of scientific studies showing that it can support metabolism, lipid profile, and glucose balance.

Reducose® – a patented aqueous extract of white mulberry leaves, contains DNJ – a substance that slows down the breakdown of sugars in the digestive system, promoting a gradual glycemic response and helping to maintain more stable blood sugar levels after meals.
Reducose® acts in the upper part of the digestive system by temporarily inhibiting the enzymes (α-glucosidases) responsible for breaking down carbohydrates into glucose, which limits its rapid absorption after meals. Clinical studies show that taking 250 mg of Reducose® before a carbohydrate-rich meal can lead to a reduction in post-meal glucose and insulin spikes by up to 42% compared to placebo.
The extract has been clinically studied in over 13 trials, used in over 250 million servings in more than 35 countries, and has proven to be well tolerated.
This extract is 5 times more concentrated in DNJ than other mulberry extracts on the market.

Vitamin E provides antioxidant protection to cells and protects unsaturated fatty acids and other easily oxidizable substances. It also acts in the body by stabilizing other vitamins, especially vitamin A, as well as other hormones and enzymes.

Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood sugar levels and to the normal metabolism of macronutrients.

Admission

Daily dose – 2 capsules.

Take 2 capsules 10 minutes before one of your main meals.

In most RCT* studies, effective daily doses are 900–1500 mg/day.

Salengei recommends 2 capsules daily, which corresponds to the dosage indicated on the website. The formula falls within the established clinical framework.

* RCT (Randomized Controlled Trial) stands for "randomized controlled trial" – this is one of the most reliable types of scientific research. In it, participants are randomly divided into groups, and the results are objectively compared to assess the effectiveness of a substance.

Composition

Additional Information

Why might we have high blood sugar levels and what diet should we follow to regulate them?

People who consume too many carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, rice, soft drinks or fruit juices, alcohol, and processed sweets may have high blood sugar levels. This type of diet, if maintained for a long time, can lead to metabolic problems such as type II diabetes, hypertension, and high triglycerides. That is why proper nutrition is so important. It is recommended to replace simple carbohydrates with whole-grain carbohydrates, adding vegetables and legumes in combination with proteins.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is berberine and why is it called "nature's Ozempic"?

Berberine is a natural alkaloid extracted from the plant Berberis (Berberis aristata). It earned the nickname 'nature's Ozempic' because numerous studies have shown its effects on metabolism, blood sugar, and weight – mechanisms similar to those of type 2 diabetes medications, but in a natural form.

What is Reducose® and what role does it play in the product?

Reducose® is a patented white mulberry (Morus alba) extract, with a 5 times higher concentration of DNJ (1-deoxynojirimycin) compared to other extracts. Scientific studies show that Reducose® converts fast carbohydrates into slow ones, reducing the glycemic index of meals.

How does Salengei Active Berberine support blood sugar levels?

Berberine activates the enzyme AMPK (known as the 'metabolic master switch'), improves insulin sensitivity, reduces glucose production in the liver, and slows carbohydrate absorption in the intestines. In combination with Reducose®, the effect on postprandial peaks is significantly enhanced.

Salengei Active Berberine – What exactly does it contain?

Each capsule contains 500 mg of Berberis aristata extract (97% berberine hydrochloride), Reducose® (white mulberry extract, 5% DNJ), vitamin E (antioxidant) and chromium picolinate (maintains normal blood sugar levels). The formula is in a vegetable capsule – gelatin-free.

Is Salengei Active Berberine suitable only for diabetics?

No. The product is also suitable for people without diabetes who are looking for: weight management, reduction of "sugar crashes" after meals, cholesterol and triglyceride control, liver health, and metabolic support. Salengei Active Berberine is a preventive tool for metabolic health.

How is it taken and are there any contraindications?

The recommended dose is 2 capsules 10 minutes before a main meal. Food supplements do not replace a varied diet. Pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as people undergoing medication (especially for diabetes), should consult a doctor, as berberine may interact with blood sugar medications.

Are there benefits for cardiovascular health?

Yes. Berberine helps maintain normal cholesterol levels, lowers triglycerides, supports liver health, and has anti-inflammatory properties. It is particularly valuable in metabolic syndrome, when several risk factors are present simultaneously.
