Why choose Rosita fish oil?

For the Vikings of Northern Norway, cod liver oil from Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) was highly valued for its healing power. Ancient sailors used it to relieve muscle and joint pain. The traditional dish Mølje, which includes fillet, roe, liver, and cod liver oil from Atlantic cod, helped Norwegians maintain their strength through the winter. Although other fish contain vitamins A and D and Omega-3 fatty acids, none possess the documented medicinal properties of cod liver oil from Atlantic cod. Rosita produces oil from freshly caught wild cod, following the traditions of its ancestors.

Vitamins

The main advantage of extra virgin cod liver oil is that it contains vitamins in their natural form, without synthetic additives. Laboratory tests show that the oil has high bioactive levels of vitamins A and D, which vary according to the season and batches, but remain in their natural form with all accompanying nutrients.
In cod liver oil, the fatty acid ratio is about 1.4:1, while in other fish oils, EPA is higher. Rosita uses only Atlantic cod, and the oil contains 700 mg DHA and 510 mg EPA per teaspoon.

Freshness
"The only way to get fresher than extra virgin Atlantic cod liver oil is to fly to Norway and catch it yourself."
Since its introduction in 2014, Rosita has been highly praised for the fresh taste and efficacy of its extra virgin Atlantic cod liver oil, rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids. These delicate acids are easily oxidized, making them harmful if not handled carefully – which is why the oil is produced fresh (from fish to bottle within 48 hours). No additional flavors are added, and no processes that would alter the taste and structure are used. The oil requires refrigeration, becomes cloudy, and thickens in the refrigerator, as it contains the full spectrum of fatty acids and cofactors.
Low Contamination Levels
"Every batch of oil is checked for contaminants."
The oil is filtered to meet the strict contamination standards applied within the European Union. Instead of invasive methods like molecular distillation, which damage vitamins A and D, Rosita uses a unique filtration system with ocean materials to attract contaminants. No heat or chemicals are used in the process, and samples for contaminants are taken from each batch, with results published at www.evclo.com/testing.
No Radiation
"The lowest radiation levels on the planet."
Rosita closely monitors ocean radiation levels. Fish and fish oil exports are a key factor in the Norwegian economy, with the government overseeing the industry's sustainability – including monitoring radiation in the oceans around Norway. Rosita's oils come from areas with extremely low radiation and are tested by leading European institutes in direct connection with the government. In terms of radiation safety, it is fully guaranteed for Rosita products.
Sustainability
"Everything is done with nature in mind."
Open fishing vessels are used during the catch to avoid disturbing ocean ecosystems. Boats deploy bird-friendly longlines with fatty pieces of mackerel or herring as bait, allowing for careful cod catching, preserving its numbers. This method is preferred over trawling, thus increasing the value of the final product.
Transparency
"Fresh, wild, and raw."
Rosita offers the only fresh Atlantic cod liver oil available in Norway. Information about the fish, catch location, producer, and production process is key for consumers, more important than comparing prices or vitamins. Transparency throughout the entire process is essential for today's fish oil markets.
