Fish Oil for Children
Is it appropriate to give fish oil to children?
Many pediatricians recommend supplementing our baby's or child's diet with fish oil.
From birth to puberty, our children's bodies go through rapid changes. All organs and systems develop, and the body needs not only extra energy, but also substances that ensure optimal growth and development.
High Nutritional Value
Fish oil contains important nutrients that ensure optimal development for your child or baby. It is rich in vitamins A and D and omega-3 fatty acids.
Mercury-Free
Unlike fish itself, most fish oils are purified of heavy metals, and mercury in particular. Manufacturers purify the oils of various ocean pollutants and heavy metals (the extraction method is extremely important, since if the method is not gentle, it damages the oil's nutritional value).
Supports Brain Function
The DHA in fish oil supports the integrity of brain cells and helps communication between neurons. It also improves concentration in babies.
Improves Mood
Regular intake of fish oil will make your baby happy and smiling. Some studies show that fish oil can help children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Supports Vision
The presence of DHA in fish oil can support your child's vision, while vitamin A protects eye health.
Strengthens Bones
Fish oil makes your baby's bones stronger thanks to the presence of vitamin D. Omega-3 fatty acids, in turn, help maintain a good mineral composition in the bones.
Boosts Immunity
High levels of fatty acids in fish oil can help protect your child from colds, coughs, or the flu.
Babies often fall victim to eczema – a common skin condition. Omega-3 fatty acids could help soothe the symptoms.
If your child has never consumed fish or fish oil before, or if you suspect a food allergy, please consult your doctor before using the oil. As an extra precaution, you can place a drop of the oil on a small area of your child's skin before direct consumption.
