Finally, a sweet treat that kids love without damaging their teeth!

Benefits of Dr. Cvety Dental Lollipops

  • You can safely give them to your child whenever they crave something sweet. Dr. Cvety lollipops contain sugar substitutes that do not cause cavities; on the contrary, they support dental health by maintaining optimal pH in the oral cavity.
  • They have a shape specifically designed for children's mouths. Unlike ordinary lollipops, these dental treats have a flattened shape, and this is not by chance. It is adapted to the space between the cheek and the teeth, so that the child can suck the lollipop with a closed mouth and swallow properly. When consuming spherical lollipops, the tissues are strained, the cheek becomes "seaweed-like" from the pressure, and due to the stretching, children have to breathe through their mouths. As a result, the teeth dry out - saliva cannot protect them, and chronic demineralization begins - a prerequisite for cavity formation.
  • They offer a longer sweet pleasure for the child. They dissolve more slowly during consumption because they do not contain acids that stimulate salivation. By staying in the mouth for a longer time, Dr. Cvety dental lollipops ensure an even accumulation of xylitol on the tooth enamel, which prevents cavities.

Who are they suitable for?

Dental lollipops are a prophylactic product. They are a very suitable surprise for a child in a dental office, as well as a sweet treat for home.

This delicious treat is suitable for people with metabolic problems or diabetes because its ingredients are low-calorie, have a low glycemic index, and are metabolized independently of insulin.

Quality of Dr. Cvety Dental Lollipops
Healthy treats are a dream not only for children but also for their mothers, who wouldn't want to deprive their little ones of sweet pleasures. It was with this motivation that two mothers initiated the creation of Dr. Cvety dental lollipops.

The recipe was developed jointly with Prof. Hadzhikinov and Chief Assistant Dr. Hadzhikinova from the University of Food Technologies in Plovdiv. The final product was tested by focus groups, including the children of the founders, to select the most desired flavors and ensure the best lollipop shape.

How are Dr. Cvety dental lollipops beneficial for children's teeth?

The active ingredient in dental lollipops is xylitol, known for its antimicrobial and anti-cavity action. To understand how these treats are beneficial for children's teeth, we need to understand how cavities form and how xylitol works.

How do cavities form?
The formation of dental cavities is associated with demineralization of tooth enamel upon contact with acids - lactic, formic, acetic, butyric, and propionic. Acids are formed during the fermentation of carbohydrates that stick to the teeth after eating.

The processes of demineralization and remineralization represent the exchange of calcium and phosphate ions to and from the enamel, respectively, with the help of saliva. When the balance of these two processes is disrupted in favor of demineralization in a more acidic environment, then cavity formation begins.

The disruption of balance usually occurs with carbohydrate intake. Bacteria in the mouth feed on carbohydrates, and their breakdown produces the acids that cause cavities.

How do xylitol and isomalt work in dental lollipops?
The acidic potential of foods can be measured by a pH test of dental plaque. Such tests have also been performed with xylitol and isomalt intake. The results show that both substances maintain the alkaline balance on the tooth surface for up to 30 minutes after intake, which is why xylitol and isomalt are classified as non-cariogenic additives.

What actually happens?

Microorganisms in dental plaque cannot process xylitol and isomalt. They feed on them, but at the same time, they starve because no metabolic process occurs. Consequently, the acids that cause cavities and are a byproduct of this metabolic process are not formed.

Composition

Ingredients: xylitol, isomalt, carmine, curcumin, Strawberry or Orange flavoring

Shelf life: 24 months

Xylitol and isomalt are sugar substitutes that are increasingly used in the food industry. Xylitol is found in some fruits and vegetables such as raspberries, strawberries, yellow plums, and cauliflower. For industrial purposes, xylitol is extracted from almond shells, corn cobs, and birch bark.

Isomalt is obtained by isomerizing sucrose.

Both products have a sweetness similar to sugar, have a crystalline form, dissolve well in water and saliva, have a low glycemic index, non-insulin-dependent metabolism, and DO NOT cause tooth decay.
